It is 1965 in Poland. Talented and committed to his patients, the doctor cannot get a passport to leave Poland and join his wife and daughter living in the UK. Due to his war past and fighting on the side of the Polish government in exile in London, he is on a black list of communists ruling the country. One of his patients is dreaming of leaving Communist Poland presents a solution: passports can be bought, and to get the money to buy them, they would have to rob a bank. After the robbery, the doctor faces a moral dilemma; should he let a wounded security guard die or save him, giving himself up to the police as a result...
