El Rey....is the story of Juan de la Torre, a poor immigrant from Mexico who comes to the United States to make a better life for himself. In the process, he discovers racism, discrimination and must deal with his own demons in the form of drug abuse. In the end, he learns to survive and better himself and falls in love with the Mexican Rodeos. It becomes his salvation and through determination and hard work he becomes the internationally recognized King of the Rodeo. Juan de la Torre, llamado El Rey de los Coleaderos, originario de Jerez, Zacatecas, nacio charro en familia pobre y nunca pudo practicar a fondo su passion por este costoso deporte. Hoy en dia la charreria professional es un deporte de hombres ricos. Pero un dia, Juan emigro a Los Angeles, California y despues de muchos obstaculos logro volverse rico. Y como nunca olvido su passion, ha invertido todo su dinero en ser un charro professional. Asi, cada ano vuelve a Jerez, para desfilar orgulloso en al Sabado de Gloria.
