The film takes place in a small, Polish village at the beginning of the 80s. This is where the Koledowie family lives. Ms. Koleda is the head of the local community. Her husband grows flowers in a greenhouse and breeds ducks. They also have a pretty, unemployed daughter. One day Ms. Koleda finds out she is soon going to become a grandmother. The fear of losing her authority and being involved in a scandal leads her to come up with a really devilish plan. Koledowa, energiczna pani naczelnik gminy, scisle wspolpracuje z miejscowymi prominentami - komendantem MO, szefem sluzby rolnej i lekarzem. Od jednego z nich dowiaduje sie, ze jej corka - Dorota - jest w ciazy. Dziewczyna nie chce zdradzic, kim jest ojciec dziecka. Koledowa, przerazona utrata autorytetu wladzy, znajduje "wyjscie awaryjne", polegajace na "kupieniu" narzeczonego z jednoczesnym oplaceniem rozwodu. Maz sprowadza do domu redaktora Bronka, w rzeczywistosci bylego wieznia zwanego "Szklarzem". Dorota, poczatkowo powsciagliwa, zaczyna darzyc chlopaka uczuciem, nie bez wzajemnosci. Kiedy Koledowa dowiaduje sie, ze mlodzi nie zamierzaja sie rozwiesc, przerywa uroczystosc weselna. Wezwana nagle na spotkanie z wysokim urzednikiem z wojewodztwa musi opuscic przyjecie. Zabawa jednak trwa, a zaniedbywany przez Koledowa maz zajmuje sie czule ponetna sasiadka. Komedia satyryczna ukazujaca moralnosc i mentalnosc ludzi z prowincji, ktorzy zarowno w sprawach zawodowych, jak i prywatnych wciaz stwarzaja pozory, by ukryc przed innymi swoje wady i slabosci. This movie is good for some laughs and lighthearted entertainment, January 6, 2007
"Wyjscie Awaryjne" (Emergency Escape) is a goofy 1982 Polish comedy that creates a similar feeling as its contemporary comedies, such as "Mis" (1981) and "Co mi Zrobisz, Jak Mnie Zlapiesz" (1978). As with these other two films, "Wyjscie Awaryjne" tells us the story with an unusual twist on marriage and subtly makes commentary on the times.
The story is about a family in a small town in Poland. The mother is an uptight, bossy, and the local director of the town, so she is very concerned about her public image. When she discovers her daughter is pregnant, she freaks out. The mother convinces her meek husband to go to the city to find their daughter a husband; in a way, this is showing us how money can buy anything in this time period in Poland, even a husband for your daughter.
The emergency exit referred to in the title is the finding a man to be their daughters husband, so she can give birth while married, but the plan comes back to haunt them as it isn't easy to find a good man for sale. I would recommend "Wyjscie Awaryjne" for those who enjoy silly comedies. This movie is good for some laughs and lighthearted entertainment. |
