Dressed in male nurse costume, Franek brings injured soldiers onto the ship and travels with them to Italy. Germans catch him, thinking he deserted from German army and send him to the east front. Dolas jumps from the German plane straight onto Polish land, where he starts looking for guerrilla troops. Unfortunate private, put in many different camps and accused of desertion and spying, finally gets a chance to prove he is a great hero... Tadeusz Chmielewski, the director, has always pictured his movie in color. In this new, colored version, we will see this movie as creators dreamed of-beautiful, colorful and moving.
